Our law firm practices extensively in international adoption. We work with adoption agencies and individuals toward the successful placement of one or more children.

We have developed many different flexible approaches to meet the different needs of clients who want to adopt a child internationally. Our approach is pro-active. Generally, age and marital status of a prospective parent do not preclude a person from adopting. Of course all prospective parents must have a home study completed before placement.

We recognize that these matters involve highly charged emotional issues as well as legal issues. Our office is set up to provide intensive case management to follow every development in your case. Our staff is highly trained and experienced. We work with you in the most cost efficient way possible.

An international adoption consists of two specific tracks. The first track is the United States Government track. The second track is the proper authentication and certification of documents required by the government of the foreign country. We guide you step by step along these tracks to the point you are legally ready to adopt a child internationally.

Then we represent you in negotiating an agreement to adopt a child with agents or agencies who are authorized to place children for adoption, in accordance with the law of the foreign country. We carefully oversee the implementation of the adoption agreement, as well as represent you with regard to U.S. immigration procedures once the adoption process for a particular child is underway.

Throughout the process we also work cooperatively with your adoption agency here in the U.S. as may be necessary to facilitate your international adoption. Essentially, we provide whatever legal advice and assistance that you may need in your particular case to accomplish an international adoption.

We know this area of the law and we recognize how difficult and emotionally excruciating it can sometimes be. We have two objectives, firstly, to help your family adopt a child and, secondly, to help them do so in the most cost efficient way possible.
